Le Tour de Yorkshire is coming to town18-04-2019
The Tour de Yorkshire takes place over the weekend of 2-5 May. It's sure to be another fantastic cycling spectacle, with thousands of people expected to gather to cheer on the riders.
Some of the best viewing points for the event are easiest to get to by bus, and with car parking spaces expected to be few and far between, there's no better way to see the cycling!
Here's an outline of what's happening over the Tour de Yorkshire weekend.
Sunday 5 May
Stage 4: Halifax to Leeds
The last stage of the race runs from Halifax to Leeds, through our stunning hillside and passing close to some of our bus routes.
This stage of the race will have an impact our buses on Aireline, Brontebus, Dalesway Keighley Jets, the 62 and Wharfedale Links. Here's how we'll be running through the day:
For the whole of Sunday, we'll be taking a slightly different route in and out of Leeds city centre. At the end of Kirkstall Road, we'll be using the city centre ring road to get to the bus station, and some of our buses during the afternoon may get held up for a short while whilst the race passes over Kirkstall Bridge.
If you normally catch Aireline in the city centre, head to the bus station where you'll still be able to get on as normal.
Brontebus B2 and B3, Keighley Jets K1 and K7
There'll be rolling road closures between Haworth, Oakworth and Laycock from around 1pm, which might cause some short delays to some of our buses. The roads will only be closed as the peloton passes through, and we won't be missing out any of our usual stops.
Keighley Jets K14
There is a number of road closures around Oxenhope, Oakworth and Laycock, as such we will have to use an alternative route through from the start of the day until 3pm. We won't be able to reach Black Moor Road and will be divirted along Hebden Road, we also are unable to trave through Goose Eye and Laycock as such we will be going between Oakworth Windsor Road and Keighley along Oakworth Road.
We will pick you up at any of the stops along the alternate route, the 3.05pm departure from Keighley will follow it's normal line of route.
The 67 will not be able to reach any of its usual stops between Keelham and James Street School, as such we will be traveling along Thornton Road instead. between 12pm and 3pm
We will pick you up at any of the stops along the alternate route, the 2.50pm departure from Keighley will follow it's normal line of route.
The race will pass through Sutton-in-Craven around 1.25pm - again, there may be some short delays, but hopefully nothing too major.
62, Dalesbus 821, and Wharfedale Links 965
During the afternoon the race will pass through Pateley Bridge, Otley and Blubberhouses - there may be some small delays whilst the race passes through.
Greenhow Hill will be closed through the day, so DalesBus 821 will run a different way between Otley and Pateley Bridge.
