Rosso joins Transdev

Rosso is now part of the Transdev family from 12 January 2018.

With 240 people and 102 buses serving 5.4 million customers a year across Rossendale Borough and Greater Manchester, Rosso runs a selection of routes in the towns of Rawtenstall, Bury, Rochdale and Ramsbottom, reaching out to Blackburn, Accrington and Burnley.

This complements Transdev's existing routes in those areas, including those on Witchway, Red Express and Mainline which connect into the Rosso network.

£3 Million Investment

We will be making buses better at Rosso– including an immediate £3 million investment in a fleet of 20 brand new, hi-spec vehicles. We will extend our popular Transdev Go app, with live departure times of our buses, clever journey planning and mobile tickets too to include Rosso. We'll also be making bus passes easier to use too – so you can use them on Rosso buses with no extra charge in the respective area. Plus, with a new bus station on the way in Rawtenstall, catching and changing buses in the town will be a better choice.

From day one

There will be no changes to routes, times and individual fares at Rosso. We will be bringing in improvements, though, right from the beginning.

It means a great deal

You'll be able to go further with your tickets and passes now that Rosso is part of the Transdev family.

From 14 Jan Transdev Gold season tickets and the Daytripper range of day tickets can now be used on all Rosso buses. This is great news particularly if you need to travel into Manchester from Rossendale. So, for example, if you are travelling from Bacup to Manchester, you can just buy one ticket – Gold for weekly travel or Daytripper for the day. Lancashire area tickets can now be used on Rosso buses as far as Rochdale and Bury too.

Rosso Rovers can be used on Witchway between Rawtenstall and Burnley, and between Bentgate, Haslingden and Accrington on Red Express too.

Buying and using a ticket will be easier too. Your Transdev and Rosso smartcard will work on each other's buses - and you can load the whole range across both companies on either smartcard too.

Download a map showing where your Rosso and Transdev tickets can now take you here.

APP-Y travels

You'll also be able to buy Rosso tickets the easy way - using the Transdev Go app, which will offer the Rosso range of day and season tickets. This means you can buy tickets on your mobile, and your phone becomes your bus ticket. Rosso timetables and live departures will become available on Transdev Go in the next few weeks. Download the free Transdev Go app now from the App Store or Google Play.

And, we're bringing back easy-to-use, smart Rosso timetables that you'll be able to pick up on buses and at a range of local outlets.

Welcome to a new beginning for Rosso – and the start of amazing things to come.
