Cliffe Castle Museum

Originally the home of local Victorian millionaire and textile manufacturer, Henry Isaac Butterfield, the museum has extensive and varied collections covering elements of natural history, archaeology and local history including toys and domestic items. There are also visiting collections. The peaceful grounds are popular for a relaxing wander or picnic, and feature a garden centre, aviary and play area for children. Entrance is free but a donation is encouraged to help with upkeep of the museum.
